Let´s all get balloony on Noirvember 2022 Day 3. I noticed a parallel between ‘M (1931),’ from which you can see the blind balloon seller (Georg John) above, and ‘The Third Man (1949).’ Of course it´s not intentional, but still a nice coincidence.
A Viennese balloon seller nearly blows Major Calloway´s (Trevor Howard) and Sergeant Paine´s (Bernard Lee) trap, which they prepared for Harry Lime (Orson Welles), in ‘The Third Man (1949).’
Hans Beckert (Peter Lorre) lures his victim Elsie Beckmann (Inge Landgut) into a trap (M 1931).
Approaching balloon seller in Carol Reed´s noir ‘The Third Man (1949).’
Do you know any other noir movies, where balloons have their place in memorable scenes?
Thanks for reading.
